A time to Gather, Connect, & Celebrate!
–Anne Saxon, NC ACDA Luncheon Chair
Each November, as musicians and music educators alike make their annual pilgrimage to Winston-Salem, we gather and break bread together during the NC Music Educator’s Conference to connect and catch up on current events. Since a large majority of NC ACDA members are also members of NCMEA, we host a luncheon to connect as a body of people who work in the choral field, and to invite others to come and learn about our organization. Our state chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association is ready to serve you, as we are YOUR choral resource right here in NC.
The majority of NC ACDA’s leadership will be on hand at this event to greet our guests and get to know you better. A highlight of the luncheon – besides the opportunity to visit with each other and meet new people -- will be to witness the announcement of our next Lara Hoggard Award Recipient. AND this year we are introducing the brand new “NC Choral Impact and Artistry Award”. This new award is to recognize the work of a conductor/teacher/educator in the state who is making an impact on their community through the choral arts.
The free shuttle service provided by the church makes it easy to get to the event, especially if the weather is bad and/or your conference schedule is tight, or one can walk the two blocks from the convention center to the church. The Steven’s Center is equidistant from the church and convention center to attend the choral concert immediately after the luncheon. Also, as a perk for non-members to attend, we are holding a drawing for some free memberships! (Due to the COVID19 pandemic, lunch will be brought in this time and our seating will be at least 3 feet apart).
We hope you will plan to come -- and invite a friend or colleague to join you! Lunches also sold “at the door” for $20 per person as space allows. All payments are final and there are no refunds.
Registration has now ended; however, we encourage you to join us and pay at the door. Cash, check, or card will be accepted.
